چکیده
The converter transformer is the core equipment of HVDC transmission system, valve-side winding which needs to withstand DC voltage. Partial discharge one main threats safe operation transformer, yet characteristics partial development oil-pressboard insulations under constant voltage are insufficiently understood. In order better understand insulation and provide deeper theoretical support for diagnosis transformers, including time-varying tendency magnitude repetition rate in positive negative were studied. results indicate that a needle-plane model has three stages: intensive discharging stage, silent-burst breakdown stage. Throughout all stages, first decrease increase afterwards. At appears form “cluster” with very large rate. Each cluster exists tens seconds but at long interval each other. Further analysis shows repeated accumulation dissipation free charges on surface pressboard cause above phenomena. Negative easy accumulate difficult dissipate same amplitude compared charges, leading weaker actual electric field needle tip thus discharges lower longer interval.

Insulation used in transformer is mostly oil pressboard insulation. Insulation failure is one of the major causes of catastrophic failure of transformers. It is established that partial discharges (PD) cause insulation degradation and premature failure of insulation. Online monitoring of PDs can reduce the risk of catastrophic failure of transformers. There are different techniques of partial d...

Partial discharge (PD) behaviors of oil-paper insulation is distinctive in AC and DC combined electric fields in converter transformers from PD behaviors in pure AC or DC electric fields. The present study focuses on the PD developing processes and characteristics of oil-paper insulation systems with needle-plane defects under different AC/DC proportions. The degradation of oil-paper insulation...

In order to study the influence of trap parameters on dielectric characteristics of nano-modified pressboards, pressboards were made using the nano doping method with different nanoparticle components. The dielectric characteristics of the modified pressboards were measured, and the trap parameters were investigated using the thermally stimulated current (TSC) method. The test results indicated...

Pulses with different amplitudes occur when an inner partial discharge fault exists in SF6-gas-insulated DC high-voltage electrical equipment. SF6 decomposes following complex physical and chemical processes. Discussing and quantifying the mathematical relationship of pulse discharge quantities to SF6 decomposition component characteristics is helpful to evaluate and predict the insulation faul...
